Welcome to The INTJ Collective. Formed as a central hub to Masterminds on deviantART, this is a forum to display and promote the best work produced by our personality type and to introduce you to the concept of who we are, what we do and the typical values we stand for.

Hey all, I thought I'd post another INTJ profile. It's not better or worse than the Keirsey profile posted in the first entry. I just thought people might be interested in it. If not, that's fine, too.

A warning, it does send you to a PDF file, so if you don't have Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat then you won't be able to access it. Adobe Reader is available for download for free, if you don't already have something that will read PDF files.

Anyway, here is the link: [link]

why won't you accept the affiliation request to PersonalityTypeArt?

Personalities are more suited to spectrums, rather than labels like this.

I find that the MBTI pretty well covers a significant amount of points within that spectrum. Sure, you can be a occupy a middle point between two polar opposites of characteristic, but they're pretty easy to imagine.

I suppose so. But I think it's possible that the more aware we are of the category that we're in, the more polarized our behaviour becomes (we might use our T function to justify a lack of sympathy, aka apathy, for example).
Just a theory I guess.

I had a conversation with a psychologist once who had much the same theory. He felt that the MBTI was a dangerous system, in that.. it gave people labels to apply to themselves which could excuse behaviour. Like an alcoholic saying 'Oh, well, it's sort of okay that I drink too much. I'm an alcoholic, and I can live with that.'

Personally, I'm more of a middle ground between the INTP and INTJ. When I first discovered the MBTI, and my then rating of a strong INTP (I've swung between them, a bit.) It felt like an opening to finding that I wasn't literally alone in the universe.
I guess personally, I've used it more like a nametag to denote, well, an archetype, as it is. 'I'm closest to this, so if you read this profile, you should have a good understanding of me.' Regardless of the MBTI, I don't apologise (or make excuses) for who I am, period.

Oh finally, found a introverted group. As a loner who have absolutely no friend, this would fit me. I quite enjoy being a loner too.

Interesting group...

I'm curious, is it a requirement that you be INTJ to join? I myself am, very much so, and I can be quite certain of this, as I've taken about five tests to verify my type, and I am consistently labeled as an INTJ.

Anyway, I was just wondering if you allowed non-INTJ's to join, if they were so inclined (not that many would be). I am unsure as to where I would stand on an exclusive group, but it seems a bit discriminatory...then again considering the benign, seemingly transparent purpose of this group, perhaps it's rather irrelevant...

I don't know, just curious.

Also, how do you identify "INTJ art"? Do people of any one of the sixteen types necessarily create art in a certain, predefined "cookie-cutter" way? And isn't everyone's style unique, regardless of personality type?

I'll admit, I don't know much on the subject, that was just my initial reaction. I'd be curious to hear you explain this, however.

I suppose they could join if they wanted to, but it *is* intended as an exclusive INTJ group to showcase art made by those who are INTJ. ..Discriminatory, I wouldn't say so. Only in the sense that, a photography group may only be open to photographers. Elitist, yes, but if we let everyone in, it would defeat the purpose - it would be an 'Everyone' or an 'MBTI' group rather than specifically INTJ. It *is* a bit irrelevant or obvious, but I respect your question :)

I think I've already answered your second question, on your third; sure everyone's style is unique despite personality type, but hey, its a club. Its about more than art, really. Its about having friendly ground here for those looking for (or curious about) the like-minded.

I'm not quite an INTJ, I'm usually about fifty fifty on the J vs. P aspect, but just the same it's awesome to see more Rationals out there. Especially on an art site! We rule.
